When we are considering a field bred Springer Spaniel for breeding, we are looking for the qualities we enjoy to hunt over, compete with and have as companions in our house. Often people want to separate field trial competitors and hunting dogs. Our breeding program is built around producing puppies which have the physical, mental and emotional traits which enable them to be strong field trial candidates. However, we are also looking for a spaniel that we enjoy hunting over and living with. We strive to produce a balanced stable dog which you will enjoy in the home, the pheasant field or grouse woods and which will be a potential field trial competitor.
We are also looking for natural talent. A spaniel whose natural abilities creates a foundation upon which the trainer can develop an exceptional hunting companion or field trial competitor. We do not breed dogs who require significant bench training to enhance their retrieving or have other significant faults.
